John Denver

I'm not sure if there is anyone out there still reading this blog since my good news. I just wanted to write one last post before I close up shop and come home.

A month ago I could only dream about coming home early and now here I am getting ready to board my plane headed home to my family in KC. While sitting here in the Columbia, SC airport I have watched two Army familes each with young children tell their husband/dad good-bye for what I assume is a year long deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan and in the background I can still hear one of the little girl's crying for daddy. It's hard to not cry when you can understand where they are coming from.

I know now, after 7 years of war it has become cliche to say, "pray for the troops and their familes" but please continue to do so as today someone will more than likely lose their son, daughter, husband, wife, mother, father or close friend to this war.

My family has appreciated everyone's support, prayers and concerns through all of this. I can not thank you enought but I will certainly try.

Much love, respect and thanks!
Cheers,

Jon
